Welcome! My name is W2SJ, and I’ve been an Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) operator since I was a teenager. What started as curiosity quickly turned into a lifelong passion. Over the years, ham radio has been more than just a hobby for me—it’s been a way to learn, experiment, connect with people around the world, and be part of an incredible community.

I’ve always loved the hobby, from making contacts and building stations to learning how radio really works. Ham radio is a unique blend of technology, communication, public service, and plain old fun – and there’s always something new to discover.

I’m building this website to help other operators and, especially, to welcome new hams into the hobby. My goal is to help fill in the gaps of information that can sometimes make getting started feel confusing or overwhelming. Whether you’re studying for your first license, setting up your first station, or just curious about what ham radio is all about, I hope you’ll find useful, easy-to-understand information here.

Most of all, I want this site to be a place where new hams can learn, have fun, and get the education and encouragement they need to get started in the great topic – and hobby – of amateur radio.
